How LingoCast handles on-device conversations, optional Pro cloud translation, and store purchase verification—without user accounts.
LingoCast mobile apps do not offer registration, login or user profiles. There is no LingoCast account to create or delete. There is no server-side store of your conversation history. Content you create stays on your device unless you use optional Pro cloud features.
LingoCast is the name of the iOS, Android and Amazon apps and of the website at lingocast.cc.
Conversation capsules, complete transcripts you choose to save, selected review takeaways, and learning progress stay on your device. Takeaways are selected locally, without sending the saved conversation anywhere for analysis. Saved transcripts remain in local storage unless you explicitly share them. If you use Pro cloud translation, the text being translated may be sent to our service as described below. Support diagnostic reports contain device and capability information, but no audio and no conversation text.
On Android, the ML Kit Translation SDK collects limited device and app information, installation and device identifiers, performance metrics, feature events, model-download events, error codes, API configuration, and the configured source and target languages, for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google documents this diagnostic data as encrypted in transit and not transferred to third parties.
If you use Pro, LingoCast also processes an app-generated device identifier and store purchase proof to maintain an anonymous entitlement, plus text for enhanced translation, which may include partial speech transcripts while you speak as well as final text, for only as long as it takes to return a translation. We do not keep a server archive of raw microphone audio, conversation transcripts, saved capsules, or review takeaways.
Microphone access is requested only when you start voice translation. Speech recognition runs on your device where the selected language and your hardware support it. When no local recognizer is available, Apple Speech or the Android system speech-recognition provider may process the foreground audio online under that provider's own privacy terms. LingoCast does not upload or retain raw microphone audio. If you use Pro translation, transcript text, which may include partial speech recognition results, is sent — never raw audio — to LingoCast over encrypted transport for that one translation request.
For Pro enhanced translation, the LingoCast backend sends the text being translated, including possible partial speech transcripts, to a self-hosted translation service. The mobile apps never receive model-service keys. Requests are processed only to return the translation, are not retained as conversation history, and are not used to train public third-party AI models.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share conversation content with advertisers. If you buy Pro, Apple, Google or Amazon process your payment and subscription under their own terms and privacy policies. Pro cloud translation runs on infrastructure we operate; we do not send conversation content to a public third-party AI API.
Local conversations, vocabulary and learning progress remain on your device. Pro cloud requests are processed transiently and are not stored as a conversation archive. Encrypted purchase-verification proofs and device-session records may be retained as needed to enforce subscriptions and prevent abuse, and are then deleted or anonymised.
LingoCast supports iOS 15+ and Android 6+. Free on-device translation requires iOS 18+ on Apple devices and Android 8+ on Android devices, plus supported languages and installed resources. On iOS 15-17 and Android 6-7, translation requires an active Pro subscription and a network connection. Conversation capsules, saved transcripts, review takeaways, History, and Review remain local on all supported versions.
There is no account to delete and no server-side conversation archive. Delete capsules, transcripts, and review data in the app at any time, or uninstall the app to remove all of it. To ask about purchase-verification records tied to your anonymous device session, write to [email protected].
LingoCast is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us server-side information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
The mobile apps contain no advertising SDK and do not use data for advertising or cross-app tracking. On Android, the ML Kit Translation SDK performs the limited diagnostics and usage analytics described above.
The website uses no advertising cookies and has no cookie banner. If you change language, a first-party lang cookie (SameSite=Lax, one year) stores that preference. Optional privacy-friendly, aggregate website analytics (Plausible) may be enabled without cross-site tracking; that script is not loaded unless configured, and it is not loaded on the live site today. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes connection metadata for CDN and security. Origin web-server access logs retain standard request records. None of this website telemetry includes conversation audio or transcripts.
You control microphone permission on your device. You can clear local app data from your device settings. Cancel Pro through your Apple, Google or Amazon store account. See “Deletion” above for server-side deletion requests.
Data in transit is encrypted. Support and administrators cannot read on-device conversation content.
If you use Pro, your request may be processed on servers outside your country. We use encryption in transit.
